However, unlike step-cut emerald cut diamonds, the radiant diamond is a brilliant cut and was specifically designed to give maximum sparkle from an octagonal shape. Hence, radiant cut diamonds positively dazzle when compared to emerald cut diamonds. Less than 1 in 300 diamonds are cut in the radiant shape. Hence at any one time, radiant cut diamonds are not readily available in every possible combination of carat, colour and clarity.
