Stunning 1.5 carat E SI2 (totally eyeclean) cushion cut diamond solitaire with small round brilliant diamonds microset on each side and all round the base of the diamond in a handcrafted platinum ring.
The ring can be sized to your requirements.
"Microset" means that each small diamond is precision set using a microscope so that it sits in its own individual prongs. It takes great skill and workmanship to make this design.
The cushion cut diamond is sometimes called the candlelight diamond as it was originally designed to sparkle best in candlelight. For more than 70 years from 1830 to the turn of the century this was how diamonds were cut. Sometimes also referred to as a "pillow cut", the cushion cut diamond varies greatly in proportions from rectangular to oblong to square shape with rounded corners and more depth than the more modern round brilliant cut. It’s a beautiful shape. Due to improvements in cutting techniques and proportions, today’s cushion cut diamonds have a lot more sparkle than antique cushion cut diamonds. In terms of general availability there are not as many cushion cut diamonds produced as other shapes. Less than 1 in 300 diamonds is cut in the cushion cut shape though the demand for cushion cut diamonds continues to increase.
